What may be listed, and the fee
- Estate and new pipes, pipe and cigar accessories (humidors, cutters, lighters, tampers, cases, racks), tobacciana and collectibles, and services such as restoration, repair, carving classes and appraisals.
- For the trade: curing barns, kilns, presses, setters, float trays and other farm and factory equipment; farms, barns, shops and lounges for sale or lease.
- Cured leaf, to licensed manufacturers only. Growers may offer raw, cured leaf, whole and unstemmed, to buyers who hold a federal TTB permit as a manufacturer of tobacco products or of processed tobacco. Buyers must give their permit number before they can contact the seller, and the seller must check it. See what the law allows.
- Never cigars or finished tobacco products (pipe tobacco, cut or stemmed leaf, snuff), sealed or open. Empty tins, boxes and bands sold as collectibles must be clearly described as empty.
- Estate pipes are listed as restored (cleaned and sanitized) or as found, and described honestly, with photos of any flaws.
- Sellers and buyers must be 21 or older. You ship the item and answer buyers’ questions.
- Fees. Pipes, accessories, tobacciana, services, events and equipment: Elementum Press receives a 15% commission on the sale price when an item sells through the site; the seller receives 85%. Farms and property, and cured leaf: a flat listing fee instead of a commission (see rates), invoiced when the listing is approved; the sale itself is arranged directly between buyer and seller.
